Badosa receives Linz Open wild card after Charleston run

Paula Badosa secured a wild card for the Linz Open following her Charleston Open run, where she reached the round of 16 before losing to Anna Kalinskaya. The Spanish player hopes to use the Austrian tournament to climb back into the top 100.

After a solid showing at the Charleston Open, where Badosa beat Kayla Day and Maria Sakkari before falling to Anna Kalinskaya, the Spaniard was granted a wild card entry into the inaugural Linz Open. The WTA 250 event, held in Austria from April 6 to 12, offers Badosa a chance to regain momentum and move back into the top‑100 rankings.

With her ranking at No.102 and only eight top‑40 players in the draw, the tournament presents a favorable opportunity for Badosa to string together a series of wins. She joins fellow wild‑card recipients Mirra Andreeva and Lilli Tagger in the field, while several top players have opted to skip the event following the Sunshine Double.
