ESPN analyst projects Chargers trading WR Quentin Johnston and No. 22 pick to Panthers for draft capital.

ESPN analyst Bill Barnwell projects the Chargers trading wide receiver Quentin Johnston and the No. 22 overall pick to the Panthers in exchange for the No. 19 selection and a fifth-rounder (No. 159). The move could help Los Angeles recoup draft capital as they face a May 1 deadline on Johnston's $18 million fifth-year option.

Chargers executives who drafted Johnston are no longer with the team, and the team's offseason additions suggest Johnston may be the odd man out in their new offensive scheme. The trade would also allow the Chargers to potentially select Penn State guard Vega Ioane while gaining an additional Day 3 pick.
