Concerns raised over Blackburn boss O'Neill's dual role

Oxford United and other Championship clubs have expressed concerns regarding Blackburn Rovers manager Michael O'Neill's simultaneous role with Northern Ireland, specifically regarding player availability for the upcoming international break.

Oxford United are reportedly uneasy about the situation where four of their players—Jamie Donley, Ciaron Brown, Brodie Spencer, and Jamie McDonnell—are selected by O'Neill for a friendly against Wales, less than 72 hours before their crucial Championship game against Hull City.

The EFL stated they have been contacted but will not intervene, citing FIFA regulations, while noting they expect selection decisions to be taken with integrity. O'Neill previously managed Northern Ireland and Stoke City simultaneously in 2020.
