Cubarsi Takes Responsibility After Red Card vs. Atletico

After a 0-2 loss to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona defender Pau Cubarsi admitted his red card was a turning point and called for unity ahead of the return leg.

Barcelona fell 0-2 to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter‑final first leg. Midfielder Pau Cubarsi received a red card late in the first half for denying a clear goal, leaving Barca a man down for the remainder of the match. The Spanish club, which had created many chances, failed to convert and lost the game.

In a post on Instagram, Cubarsi accepted responsibility, saying, "One action determines the match and the tie. That’s football, and I take responsibility for the result." He urged the team to stay united and determined for the second leg, noting they are a family and will not give up. Cubarsi will miss the next match but hopes his teammates can overturn the two‑goal deficit.
