Diaby, Godwin to play for Buccaneers on Sunday

Published October 2, 2026 · Updated October 2, 2026 · NBC Sports

Linebacker Yaya Diaby and wide receiver Chris Godwin will play for the Buccaneers on Sunday after recovering from injuries.

Diaby missed practice earlier in the week with calf and shoulder injuries but returned to full participation on Friday. Godwin (ankle) also returned to full workload this week.

Quarterback Baker Mayfield (right thumb) is ruled out, so rookie Jalon Daniels will make his first NFL start. The Bucs also ruled out several other players including Rueben Bain (groin, shoulder), Ko Kieft (elbow), and Benjamin Morrison (quad). catcross.biz
