Fields Emerges as Giants QB Option

Published September 27, 2026 · Updated September 27, 2026 · NBC Sports

Justin Fields has emerged as a potential quarterback option for the Giants, who are expected to make a move as soon as Monday after Jaxson Dart's season-ending knee surgery.

The Giants are exploring all options at quarterback following Jaxson Dart's knee surgery, which will keep him out for at least the rest of the regular season. Justin Fields, who was traded from the Jets to the Chiefs as a backup for Patrick Mahomes, has been mentioned multiple times as a possibility.

Fields' contract includes $10 million guaranteed for 2026, with the Chiefs paying $3 million and the Jets $7 million. With Mahomes performing well, the Chiefs could recoup their 2027 sixth-round pick by unloading the rest of Fields' salary. michezonews.co.za
