FIFA Transfer Rules Change January 1

FIFA is implementing significant changes to player transfer protection periods effective January 1, modifying rules based on player age categories.

FIFA is introducing major reforms to its Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players starting January 1. The changes affect protected periods for players at different age brackets, with specific modifications for those under 23, between 23-27, 28-31, and 32 and older.

Previously, players under 23 had a protected period of four full seasons or four years, while those between 23-27 had three seasons or years. Players aged 28-31 were protected for two seasons or years, and those 32+ for one season or year. These structures will be adjusted under the new regulations. wlop.pl
