Happy Valley Rewind: Penn State-Ohio State 1997
We’re headed back to the 90’s in our latest edition of Happy Valley Rewind, as fellow three fellow “90’s children” Tim, Jared, and Bennett do a deep dive and talk about their memories of the epic 1997 clash with Ohio State at Beaver Stadium (especially with Tim and Jared being in attendance for this one as bright-eyed teenagers). Come for the Curtis Enis and Aaron Harris gushing, stay for the 90’s Internet discussion!
The full broadcast of the game can be seen below. Also, a trigger warning: There are numerous zoom-ins and mentions throughout the broadcast of a certain former defensive coordinator, who I’m pretty sure doesn’t need to be named around here.
Worrying statistics reveal where exactly Real Madrid fell short vs Bayern Munich
The 1-2 defeat to Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium did more than just put Real Madrid on the back foot in the tie, it revealed a worrying trend that cannot be ignored ahead of the second leg.
On the surface, the result keeps Madrid alive, as a one-goal deficit is far from decisive, especially for a club with their European history.
But dig a little deeper, and a far more concerning picture emerges, one that has nothing to do with tactics or finishing, but with intensity.
What’s the story?
According to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid covered a total of 101.9 kilometres over the course of the match, while Bayern, in contrast, clocked an impressive 110.9 kilometres.
Simply put, a nine-kilometre gap at this level is alarming, to say the very least.
What makes this even more striking is the comparison with previous performances.
Against Manchester City earlier in the competition, Madrid showed a completely different physical profile, covering 113.7 kilometres in the first leg and 114.5 in the second.

That level of intensity is what carried them through, but it was nowhere to be seen against Bayern.
As per the outlet, on an individual basis, Federico Valverde once again led by example, covering 10.05 kilometres and topping Madrid’s charts.
However, as many as five players from the German side outperformed him, namely, Aleksandar Pavlovic (11.80 km), Joshua Kimmich (11.76 km), Michael Olise (10.66 km), Luis Díaz (10.39 km), and Josip Stanisic (10.09 km).
For Real Madrid, this raises serious questions heading into Munich for the second leg.
This is because overturning the deficit will demand a level of intensity that simply was not there in the first leg.
If that physical gap remains, history and reputation alone will not be enough to save them.
Productive cornerback has Jaguars' attention during pre-draft process
NC State cornerback Devon Marshall is a 2026 NFL draft prospect who appears to be on the Jacksonville Jaguars' radar.
As we discussed recently, the Jaguars won't be hosting prospects on official pre-draft visits. But according to Aaron Wilson, the Jaguars are one of several teams to have met with Marshall virtually.

Jaguars' 2026 NFL draft prospect to watch: CB Devon Marshall
Marshall has played over 2,100 career defensive snaps and spent the last two seasons at NC State after previously playing at Villanova. Throughout his career, he has been stingy in coverage, allowing a completion rate of just 49%, according to PFF. He's also had excellent ball production, generating four interceptions and 20 pass breakups over the last two seasons.
Not to be overlooked either, but Marshall was one of PFF's higher graded run defenders from the cornerback position.
Devon Marshall's athletic profile
Devon Marshall is a CB prospect in the 2026 draft class. He scored a 4.24 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 1769 out of 3069 CB from 1987 to 2026.https://t.co/hdJk20YbXhpic.twitter.com/OVoj1UCy7y

Devon Marshall's draft profile
For more on Marshall, here is what Pro Football Network had to say in their pre-draft scouting report:
"Marshall is undersized, but he has good mass for his frame, and he's a reasonably explosive, fluid, and twitched-up mover with enough long speed to contend vertical and crowd WRs in recovery. He can match, redirect, and keep close depth in press-man, and also flashes great spatial reasoning and 2-on-1 awareness in zone."
What is the Jaguars' need at cornerback?
Adding Montaric Brown back into the mix greatly reduced the Jaguars' need to address the cornerback position. He and Hunter will start on the outside, Lewis will be at the nickel, while Jones provides experienced depth.
I would guess we still see Gladstone add to this position in the draft to boost depth and competition on the back end, but no longer does doing so right away feel like a must. The draft board can dictate when Gladstone adds to this position.

Braves News: Benches clear in Anaheim, Sean Murphy update, and more
The Atlanta Braves evened the series on Tuesday night after a 7-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Reynaldo López got the start. He allowed two runs, walked two, and struck out seven. Things were going relatively well, and then it got a bit punchy (literally). In the bottom of the fifth, benches cleared after López threw a high fastball to former Brave Jorge Soler, who quickly charged the mound.
Though the Atlanta offense tallied 12 hits on the night, Walt Weiss was the real MVP after tackling Soler.
There’s been no word on the status of López and Soler, but a suspension for both of them seems inevitable.

Sean Murphy is set to return soon and will begin a rehab assignment Friday. Spencer Strider’s next step, on the other hand, is to throw live BP.
