The Indianapolis Colts' 2025 season had so much promise. Daniel Jones and Jonathan Taylor were playing great.
But when injuries came to the spotlight, the Colts' season fell off the rails, and there was an unexpected Philip Rivers chapter. The hope, with Jones and Alec Pierce signed to big extensions, is that the season ahead can realize the full potential they were showing. The 2026 NFL Draft can only help. playerbros.org
The Colts used big money this offseason, so finding quality players on these affordable rookie deals is a big part of what will help the Colts be successful going forward.
One important note: No first-round pick scheduled for the Colts. It went to the Jets in the Sauce Gardner trade.

Colts NFL Draft needs
- EDGE: The Colts lost Kwity Paye this offseason but haven't really replaced him. It'll be tough to find a great one without a first-round pick, but it's still a spot to pursue.
- Linebacker: The Colts traded Zaire Franklin to the Packers. They'll need to start working on a replacement for the tackling machine.
- Wide receiver: Pierce signed a big deal, but Michael Pittman Jr. was traded to the Steelers. Indy could use more depth.

It's a new era for the Baltimore Ravens. John Harbaugh is no longer leading on the sideline -- he's now with the New York Giants, and Jesse Minter has taken over as the head coach.
On the field, though, less has changed. Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and Zay Flowers still lead the offense. Kyle Hamilton is still a defensive superstar. The 2026 NFL Draft will be meant to supplement those players while helping to put Minter's imprint on the team.
The Ravens have had definite draft successes in recent years, none bigger than Jackson and Hamilton.
To chase down the Super Bowl that has so far eluded Jackson, they'll need some more big wins with young talent, and with a full slate of picks to use in this year's draft, it could be a big few days for Baltimore.
With the first round on Thursday, second and third rounds on Friday and fourth through seventh rounds on Saturday, we'll be keeping track below of everything the Ravens get up to during the draft.

Ravens NFL Draft needs
- Interior offensive line: The Ravens have been linked to some of the top offensive linemen in the draft with their first pick, including Penn State's Vega Ioane and Utah's Spencer Fano. This is a key position group to improve for a run-happy offense. Update: The Ravens made this happen with Vega in round one.
- Tight end: The Ravens still have Mark Andrews, but the departures of Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar vastly depleted this depth chart. Baltimore likes its 2-TE sets, so an improvement here is key.
- Defensive line: Especially with Nnamdi Madubuike still not a sure thing to play this season, the Ravens need more depth in the trenches. "It's an important position," Ravens GM Eric DeCosta said recently.

IPL 2026: Mumbai Indians at crossroads after another loss; Mahela calls it ‘lack of execution’
Traditionally, MI do not like to tinker much with their playing XI. But this season, injuries, lack of player availability and a dip in form have meant the five-time champions have had to chop and change in search of a settled combination. In the first seven matches, they have already used 20 players — the most in this IPL — but without the desired results.
In Thursday’s defeat against CSK, MI looked meek, rather than bold, when their backs were against the wall. When it mattered, their most experienced players let them down. Skipper Hardik Pandya, who went for 38 runs in his first two overs, did not finish his quota and instead threw the ball to inexperienced Krish Bhagat in the 16th and 20th overs. Sanju Samson sniffed the opportunity and hammered 31 runs off the two overs bowled by the 21-year-old pacer. Pandya would have posed a much greater challenge for Samson than a newbie playing his first match at his home ground.
Despite Rohit Sharma’s absence, the batting unit boasts plenty of experience, with the likes of Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Pandya and Sherfane Rutherford all capable of winning a match on their own. However, it looked like they were psyched out by the initial turn Akeal Hosein extracted.
De Kock struggled before chopping on off Mukesh Choudhary, while Suryak and Tilak tried to rebuild from 11/3 but could never control the run rate. When they attempted to accelerate, both perished, while Pandya’s poor run with the bat continued.
Jayawardene put it down to a “lack of execution” in both departments.
“Yes, bowling — we need to improve, we know that. But at the same time, batting hasn’t been consistent as well, so we just need to find that space where we can compete. Still, I feel that if we play our best cricket, we have a great chance. But the confidence, the focus, the discipline have to be there for the next seven games,” said Jayawardene.
He added: “I don’t think the wicket played badly. Probably it stayed the same. It was still a chaseable score if you had batted well. Once you’re 11/3, you’re always going to get pulled back, and they had the upper hand from that point.”
Jayawardene, though, is not throwing in the towel yet and plans to use the five-day break before their next home match against SRH on Wednesday to reinvigorate morale.
A SEASON IN FREEFALL
Mumbai’s 103-run defeat to CSK — their heaviest ever — laid bare the chinks in the team’s armour. TOI takes a look...
Bowling woes: Barring Jasprit Bumrah and Allah Ghazanfar, most have leaked runs. Experienced campaigners like skipper Hardik Pandya (ER 12.7), Shardul Thakur (13.6), Deepak Chahar (13.4) and Trent Boult (12.2) have disappointed.
Constant changes: Opening combo altered twice, first when Rohit Sharma was sidelined with injury and then when Danish Malewar replaced Ryan Rickelton. Also, as many as 10 bowlers have been used.
Powerplay woes: In the rain-hit match against RR, MI conceded 58 in 3.2 overs and then slipped to 30/3. Against PBKS at home, they managed 48/2 compared to PBKS’ 61/2. In Thursday’s clash against CSK, they conceded 73/2 before being reduced to 29/3 while chasing.
Misfiring stars: Key players Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Boult have blown hot and cold.
Poor captaincy: Skipper’s commitment is evident but captaincy has been below par. Bowling changes, in particular, have raised eyebrows.
IPL 2026 | Sanju Samson’s symphony: CSK opener’s ton vs MI shows he’s playing to team’s tune
When Samson was handed another opportunity midway through the World Cup, he seized it with both hands, finishing with three consecutive fifties and playing a crucial role in India retaining the title.
He has carried that form into the IPL and is on his way to being adored by Chen-nai Super Kings fans, who have admired MS Dhoni for years now. The ‘Yellow Army’ waited with bated breath to witness the Samson magic ever since his trade from Rajasthan Royals was announced. However, the initiation was a difficult one, with Samson starting his CSK sojourn with three single-digit scores.
Then came the innings everyone had been craving for, an unbeaten 115 off 56 balls against the Delhi Capitals, fittingly on home turf.
The distance between the MA Chidambaram Stadium and the Wankhede is around 1,300 km but the passion felt identical, with nearly as many CSK fans cheering Samson on. The 31-year-old acknowledged after the match that he had “never seen so much yellow at the Wankhede in my life”.
Adulation aside, Samson’s second century in four innings — an unbeaten 101 off 54 balls — proved crucial in helping CSK set MI a daunting target of 208. While Samson was building his innings at one end, MI were chipping away at the other. He began aggressively, striking at over 200, but with wickets falling around him, Samson recognized the need to anchor the innings and pick his moments.
The right-hander’s ton was also a first for a CSK player against MI. At the same time, Samson has moved alongside Rohit Sharma in secondplace for the most T20 centuries by an Indian with eight hundreds. “The game tells you what to do. You don’t have to come with a preconceived mindset,” Samson said.
“With my experience, the team definitely comes first. It’s my responsibility to understand the situation, what the team demands and then plan my game around it. If we hadn’t lost a lot of wickets, I’d have gone a bit harder earlier. But after the fall of wickets, it was very important for us to close off the innings well,” he added.
