Detroit Tigers top prospect Kevin McGonigle made the team after receiving a simple text from manager A.J. Hinch.

McGonigle woke up Tuesday to a message reading "Meeting at 8:55 a.m. with the manager" and immediately understood he had made the roster. After a suspenseful conversation, the 21-year-old shortstop learned he would skip Triple-A and head straight to the majors for Opening Day.
