Mahrez, Arnautovic quit national teams after WC exit

Algerian star Riyad Mahrez and Austrian forward Marko Arnautovic have announced their retirements from international football following their teams' elimination from the World Cup.

Both players announced their decisions after their respective teams were knocked out of the tournament. Mahrez, 35, who had a successful career with Manchester City and now plays for Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia, won the African Cup of Nations in 2019 and was named African Footballer of the Year that same year.

Arnautovic, Austria's all-time top scorer with 49 goals, plays for Red Star in Serbia. Austria lost 3-0 to Spain while Algeria was defeated 2-0 by Switzerland in their final group matches. chincha.pl
