McCarthy Joins Giants, Role Unclear

Coach John Harbaugh has confirmed Jameis Winston will start at quarterback Sunday against Arizona, but it's uncertain how long he'll remain in that role. The Giants haven't specified whether McCarthy or practice squad QB Jake Haener will back up for the Cardinals game.

The team gave up a fifth-round pick to acquire McCarthy, suggesting they believe he can make a difference. Harbaugh called McCarthy 'very talented' and thinks he makes the team better. Winston was 14 of 22 for 118 yards in a 12-7 victory over Tennessee, the Giants' first start after Jaxson Dart's season-ending injury. fishroad-app.com
