Mets' Robert Jr. Out with Disc Herniation

The New York Mets placed center fielder Luis Robert Jr. on the 10-day injured list Thursday with lumbar spine disc herniation.

The Mets made the move retroactive to April 27, one day after Robert last played. The 28-year-old received an epidural and is expected to rest for 7-10 days, with team doctors hopeful he can return shortly thereafter.

Robert is the second Mets player to hit the injured list with a lumbar spine ailment this week and the third opening day position player on the shelf. The struggling team, which began Thursday with baseball's worst record at 10-20, recalled infielder Eric Wagaman from Triple-A Syracuse to replace him. chincha.pl
