Rubio to Block Iranians with Revolutionary Guard Ties from World Cup

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that any members of Iran's World Cup delegation with ties to the Revolutionary Guard will be denied entry to the United States.

During a House of Representatives hearing on Tuesday, Rubio clarified that while the US welcomes the Iranian national team and their sports staff, individuals linked to the Revolutionary Guard will not be permitted to enter the country.

Iran's team is scheduled to be based in Mexico during the tournament but will travel to the US to play their matches. Rubio emphasized that authorities will closely monitor the delegation to ensure no unauthorized personnel enter under the guise of sports. sports24.club
