South Carolina Falls 79-51 to UCLA in Title Game

The Gamecocks were outplayed by UCLA, shooting just 29% from the field and falling 28 points behind. It was the second consecutive year South Carolina lost a national title, after a 82-59 defeat to UConn in 2025.

Despite the loss, Dawn Staley’s program is set to rebound. Key players Joyce Edwards, Tessa Johnson, Madina Okot, Chloe Kitts and Ashlyn Watkins are expected to return, and a strong recruiting class adds depth. The team will look to replace veteran guard Raven Johnson with new leadership as it prepares for a 2027 Final Four run.
