Stanton IL, Dominguez Called Up by Yankees

The New York Yankees placed slugger Giancarlo Stanton on the 10-day injured list due to right hamstring tightness, prompting the call-up of top prospect Jasson Dominguez.

Stanton left Friday's game with tightness and will now miss at least 10 days. Dominguez, hitting .326 with three homers in Triple-A, will take his spot on the active roster.

The team also optioned starter Luis Gil back to Triple-A after a rough outing. Manager Aaron Boone could add a reliever to the bullpen to replace Gil's spot in the rotation. afnews.co.za
