Andy Donaldson finished a 34‑mile swim up the Ord River in 11 hours 51 minutes, beating the previous record by over four hours despite heat, dehydration and the presence of 5,500 crocodiles.

Andy Donaldson, 35, swam from Lake Argyle Dam to Kununurra in under 12 hours, setting a new world record for the Ord River route.
