The New Orleans Privateers were led in a double-double performance from Jakevion Buckley, but the Southeastern Louisiana Lions closed strong in the final minutes to secure an 82–78 victory.
Buckley strung together 28 points and 13 assists while committing just one turnover against his former team. He also contributed two blocks.
With the loss, New Orleans shifts its focus to the opening round of the Southland Conference Tournament on Sunday. The Privateers land as the No. 5 seed in the tournament, set to play round one against No. 8 Houston Christian.
