After missing the playoffs for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era, the Chiefs are in the unfamiliar position of facing uncertainty going forward.
And they're already making some moves to retool and rebuild while Mahomes recovers from his torn ACL. But that doesn't necessarily mean Mahomes is a fan of these moves.
On Wednesday, the Chiefs traded star cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Rams for a haul of picks that included the No. 29 overall pick in the upcoming draft (along with a fifth-round, sixth-round and 2027 third-round pick). McDuffie was entering the final year of his contract and likely would have been leaving Kansas City.
But when the news broke, Mahomes wasn't pleased to see the star cornerback leave. He had this one-word response.
Damn..

If he looks on the bright side, though, it's an opportunity for the Chiefs to load up after a season where they probably won't be serious contenders.
Still, it's never fun to see a longtime teammate leave. Mahomes' reaction makes sense.
