Cardinals to Release Kyler Murray

Kyler Murray will be released by the Arizona Cardinals on March 11, ending his tenure after a 3-14 season and a foot injury that limited him to five games.

Murray confirmed his release in a social media post, thanking fans and expressing readiness for the next chapter. He said he had wanted to end the Cardinals’ 77‑year drought but failed, and he will look forward to proving himself elsewhere.

The Cardinals, who finished 3‑14 and fired coach Jonathan Gannon, had grown frustrated with Murray, who was owed $36.8 million in guaranteed money. After a foot injury in Week 5, backup Jacoby Brissett stepped in, creating a quarterback controversy that led to Murray’s placement on injured reserve.
