Jones Makes White House Card Despite Billion-to-One Odds

Jon Jones appears to be landing on the UFC's White House event despite Dana White calling it a billion-to-one chance last August.

Jones is reportedly negotiating a deal to face Alex Pereira, who vacated the light heavyweight title this past weekend. The fight could potentially be for the interim heavyweight title given the uncertainty surrounding Tom Aspinall's return.

White had expressed skepticism about Jones being on the card after Jones had previously reneged on a verbal agreement to unify the heavyweight title against Aspinall and retired briefly before unretiring upon learning about the White House event. Jones is the only American fighter with sufficient reputation to represent the UFC's 250-year-anniversary celebration of American independence.
