Warrenton 8th Graders Capture State Basketball Title

The Warrenton 8th grade girls basketball squad clinched the state title on Sunday, beating Madras/Warm Springs 60‑52 in the championship game.

The team went 5‑1 over the weekend, dropping only to Madras on Saturday night before rallying to win the final. They beat Yamhill‑Carlton 52‑40, Crescent Valley 45‑17, Banks 40‑28 and Seaside 48‑20 en route to the title game.

The squad consists of six eighth‑graders and four seventh‑graders, with six players having played together for five years.
